Frequently Asked Questions

If I book you will you be the one to do my hair and makeup?

Yes! I will be the one to turn up on your big day – I can accommodate up to 8 services in one booking (i.e. 8 x makeup/hair OR 4 x makeup and 4 x hair) by myself. For bookings with more than 8 services I will bring an additional hair/makeup artist with me to ensure we get everyone ready in time with no stress however I will always be the one to look after the bride.

How many people can you accept in a single booking?

I can accommodate up to 8 services myself – this means either 8 x makeup, 8 x hair or 4 x hair and 4 x makeup.

Can you accommodate a large bridal party?

Absolutely! I have a team of experienced hair and makeup artists who I work with closely for larger bookings. Whether you have just a few members or a larger group, we will ensure that everyone looks their best on your special day. I can discuss the specific details and timeline during the booking process.

What kinds of products do you use?

I use high-quality, high-performance products and brands that withstand all weather conditions and last all day/night. I worked at Australian beauty retailer, Mecca for 5 years which meant I was able to test and use a huge variety of brands and products and I feel confident that what I stock in my kit is the BEST out there. My career in film and television developed my eye for detail and meant I frequently had to create hair and makeup looks that last for 16hrs under hot lights and under strenuous conditions. Let’s just say I know how to create long-lasting makeup looks! Some of my favourite products for all-day wear include Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer, Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Powder, Dior Backstage Foundation, NARS Light Reflecting Foundation, NARS Eyeshadow primer, Stila Stay All Day Foundation, Hourglass Powders and Mac Lipliners

Can you cater to different skin tones, sensitivities and cruelty free beauty?

Absolutely! I am a fully qualified makeup artist with 10 years experience. I understand how to work with all skin tones and cater for everyone in my kit. I also carry a large range of mineral makeup and makeup suitable for sensitive skin types. I also use a wide range of cruelty free and vegan makeup in my kit. One of my absolute favourite brands, Hourglass is completely vegan!

How long does it take for makeup?

I allow 45min per person for makeup and 1hr for the bride.

How long does it take for hair?

I also allow 45min for most styles. Some are quicker to achieve whilst other, more complex styles like Hollywood waves can take 1hr – 1.5hrs depending on the length/thickness of the hair, hair texture and if you require clip-in extensions.

Do I need to have hair extensions?

It depends on the style you’d like to achieve and your natural hair thickness and length. If you have very fine hair, extensions can help create body and fullness. They can also be a great idea if you naturally have dark hair that is all one colour but would like to add some highlights to create more detail to your hairstyle without dying your hair. If you’d like to have a downstyle for your wedding day, clip in extensions are recommended for all hair types to help your style hold all day and to add fullness and thickness to the ends of your hair. If you’re unsure whether you should have extensions for your wedding day, send me a photo of your hair and I will be able to assess the need for hair extensions. I recommend Zala Hair Extensions or Bellami Hair Extensions to my brides as their hair is great quality, affordable and they have an excellent colour matching service and colour range.

How far in advance should I book your services for my destination wedding?

To ensure availability for your special day, I recommend booking my services as early as possible. Ideally, it's best to reserve your date with me at least six to twelve months in advance. Italy has a huge amount of destination weddings every year and there are not always enough available makeup artists to service this demand! However, I understand that sometimes plans can change, so feel free to reach out to me even if your wedding is just around the corner, I will do my best to accommodate you.

What areas do you service?

I am based in Tuscany, close to Siena. I service all of Italy and love to travel so I am always happy to go far and wide for my brides. I also welcome bookings from all over Europe! If you’d like me to travel outside of Italy for your destination wedding, get in touch for a custom quote.

Do you offer trials and when is a good time to arrange this for?

Yes! A trial is a great idea if you’re not quite sure what kind of hair or makeup look you want to go for or if you want to try your ideas before the big day. As a destination bride, it can be tricky to find time to organise a trial and most will end up having it the day before the wedding. Remember a trial shouldn’t really be about ‘auditioning’ your makeup artist – it’s a chance for you and your artist to work together and find the style that best suits you and the look you desire; it’s a chance to try a few different options and feel confident that you will love your hair and makeup on the day. Wedding mornings can be busy and we therefore won’t have hours up our sleeves to fiddle with different styles before deciding on ‘the one’ so a trial beforehand helps save a lot of time and stress.

Some brides may also travel over to their destination 6-12 months out from their wedding to lock in vendors and final details. Your trial can be arranged in this time if you wish, however I don’t recommend having your trial more than 4 months out from your wedding as your hair and skin can change drastically, as well as your style preferences.

Do you do hair and makeup for photoshoots?

Of course! I’m always happy to do hair and makeup for any kind of photoshoot. You can choose to just have me there before the shoot to get you ready or I can offer my services for the duration of the shoot. I have plenty of experience working in film, television, editorial and commercial shoots and understand how to balance makeup for different lighting conditions and photography styles.

How do I book in with you?

If you’ve decided that I’m the gal for you, send me an email with your enquiry including your wedding date, venue and how many people you’re needing hair and makeup for. If you also know which package you’d like to lock it, let me know and I’ll send you the booking terms and conditions as well as your invoice with details for paying your deposit. I take a 25% deposit to secure your date.
